A group of Year 7 and 8 students imagine, debate and play out an alternative day of lessons, food and interventions across their school. Their new timetable was:
8.30 – 9.30: ‘How to Apologise? A Transformative Justice approach’ with Alex Johnston
9.35 – 10.35: ‘Shaolin Kung Fu’ with Shaolin Temple CC @shaolin_temple_cc
10.35 – 10:55: Breaktime
11.00 – 11.15: Informal Freetime
11.20 – 12.20: ‘How to deal with your money’ with Dom Vallier
12.25 – 13.25: ‘Silent Disco Party’ with Penny Klein
13.25 – 14.00: Lunchtime (Taco Thursday's)
14.00 – 15.00: ‘Sensory Chill Session’
Alongside the new curriculium the students developed a series of interventions across the school, from a feelings and wish tree to a new garden plot, and a student flag to a new lunch dish of Taco’s they helped cook.
The project was developed over a year long residency with Wysing Arts and St. Peters School. Throughout the year the artist held workshops with students across. Year. 7 and 8, askinghow Live Art histories could be used to imagine and play out alternatives to their school.
