A Model School Day
Set on a single stage, Glossolalia brings together a Method Acting class, in which actors are trained to access and utilise the unconscious and irrational aspects of their nature, and an Accent Softening Course for Business, in which international workers learn the ‘Standard English’ accent to help advance their careers in the UK.
A series of scenes—including children learning to speak and a contortionist performing—is interspersed throughout, further questioning our conditioned relationships to language, behaviour and pedagogy in twenty-first-century Britain.
